what's the story behind writing this book?
after I left my first job out of college in 2018, I stumbled upon a book titled "Self-Parenting: A Guide to Inner Conversations". The book touched on how the inner dissonance we feel when making decisions is something everyone experiences and how that dissonance stems from our inner voices not aligning with one another. I felt such a great sense of relief knowing I wasn't the only person feeling this way.
Five years later and lot of tears, hugs, and journaling with my inner child - I wrote an article on MindBodyGreen about healing our inner child. At that point, I was still interviewing therapists and mental health professionals on the subject.
Unexpectedly, an editor from a publishing company reached out asking if I could write on the topic of Living with Intention or Inner Child - you know which one I picked ;)
I was only given a month to write the entire book, but with the help of my community, friends and family I was able to distill what I learned in the past 8 years, an ode to my younger self. A book I wish I had when I was in my early 20s.
